Looking for an exciting and creative activity this summer?

At Rock On Music Academy’s Rock Band Camp, young musicians will form bands, learn classic songs and perform live in just one week.

Whether your child is picking up an instrument for the first time or already loves playing music, this camp gives them the chance to experience what it’s like to be in a real band.

With guidance from our experienced tutors, students will build confidence, learn new skills and have an unforgettable week of music.

No previous experience is required and instruments are available if needed. Students will be grouped depending on experience.

STUDENT DETAILS

A typical band has 3-5 members, with drums, guitar, keys, bass and vocals. We encourage students to be flexible and be willing to try out a second instrument if necessary

Tell us how long your child has been playing an instrument or singing, if they have taken any grades and if they have played in bands before.

Tell us your child's favourite styles of music and artists so we can match them with the right band

Lunch and Snacks

I am aware my child will need to bring a snack, packed lunch and drink each day (nut free please).

Terms & Conditions(required)

  1. Course fees are non-refundable.
  2. Students under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when arriving and departing Rock On! Music Academy premises, unless written permission for independent travel has been provided by a parent or guardian.
  3. In the interests of the student’s wellbeing whilst in the Rock On! Music Academy, the school must be informed of any medical condition, special educational need or other relevant condition affecting the student.
  4. It is compulsory for students at Rock On! Music Academy to wear hearing protection during band rehearsals. A range of hearing protection is available at the studio.
  5. Rock On! Music Academy may feature photographs and film images of its students taking part in school events on its website at www.rockonmusicacademy.com and on other appropriate social media channels, including Rock On! Music Academy Facebook and Instagram. If you do not wish your child to appear in these images please let Rock On! Music Academy know in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do students need experience?

No – beginners and experienced musicians are welcome.

Do students need to bring an instrument?

No – instruments are available, but students can bring their own if they prefer.

Is there a performance?

Yes! Students perform the songs they’ve learned in a live band performance at the end of the week.

Do students need to bring ear protection?

No – we provide small foam ear plugs and over the head ear protection. If you have your own ear protection you are welcome to bring along and use if you prefer.

Do I need to bring a packed lunch?

Yes - students are to bring a packed lunch and drink with them. We have lunch all together around midday and have plenty of breaks scheduled throughout the day.

Who will I be in a band with?

We put bands together according to age, experience and interests. If you want to be in a band with a friend, make sure you let us know when you sign up.

How many members and what instruments will be in my band?

A typical band has 4 members, with drums, guitar, keys, bass and vocals. We encourage students to be flexible and be willing to try out a second instrument if necessary.

What songs will we play?

Bands choose whether to learn classic covers or write original songs. If you choose to do covers, you will be able to suggest songs that you would like to learn.

When is the live performance?

The live performance will be in the last hour on the last day family and friends are welcome. Please let us know how many will be attending at the start of the week:
